Roomba 415 vs Electro Plus: which discount is real, and which only looks it

We may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. As an Amazon Associate, UrDealsToday earns from qualifying purchases. It never changes which deals we list.

A badge tells you a price is lower than something. We wanted to know lower than what — so we opened iRobot’s own store before we looked at a single discount tag.

iRobot has two different machines on sale under names that look almost the same. One is a robot vacuum and mop that empties itself. The other is a cordless floor cleaner you push, which disinfects as it goes. They are not alternatives to each other, and right now only one of them is genuinely discounted.

The short answer. We checked five iRobot listings at a major retailer against iRobot’s own store on Tuesday, October 7.

Two were real discounts. Two were the same price iRobot charges. One measured its saving against a former price iRobot’s own store does not use.

The best of them is on one colour only, and it needs a Prime membership.

What the two products actually are

Roomba Plus 415 Combo with AutoWash Dock (iRobot item G285020) is a robot vacuum and mop with a dock that washes and dries its own mop pads. iRobot lists it at $599.99 and is currently selling it at $499.99 — their own page shows the $100 reduction. It is the one to buy if you want the floors done while you are out.

Roomba Electro Plus 5-in-1 Disinfecting Hard Floor Cleaner (iRobot item h115020) is not a robot. It is a cordless, self-propelled cleaner you walk behind, which electrolyzes ordinary tap water to disinfect hard floors without chemicals, vacuums wet and dry mess, and heat-washes its own roller in the dock. iRobot lists it at $399.99 and is selling it at $399.99 — no discount, in stock.

That second price matters, because it is the number every retailer discount should be measured against this week.

A note on names. iRobot and the retailer do not use the same names for these products. iRobot calls them the Roomba Plus 415 Combo and the Roomba Electro Plus 5-in-1; the retailer’s listings read Roomba 415X Robot Vacuum & Mop Combo and Roomba Electro 5in1 Disinfecting Hard Floor Cleaner. They are the same two machines. We use each store’s own name for its own listing rather than inventing a third.

Which discount is real

Roomba Electro Plus 5-in-1 — REAL DEAL

Discounted 55% at the retailer, measured against $399.99 — the price iRobot is charging for it today, at full price, in stock. That is a real former price in the sense that matters: it is what the manufacturer wants for the thing right now. A 55% cut off a live manufacturer price is the best iRobot discount we have seen on either product.

The catch: two things. The discount is a Prime-member exclusive, so it is not available to everyone. And it is on one colour only. The cleaner is listed twice at the same retailer under the same product name: Cream is discounted, Black is the full $399.99. We checked both listings’ specifications against each other — 800 ml tank, 35-minute runtime, 64.8 watt-hours, 9.04 lb, identical dimensions and identical included components. It is the same machine in two colours, at two prices. Check the colour and the price on the page before you check out.

Roomba Plus 415 Combo — ORDINARY

Discounted 17% at the retailer, measured against $599.99. That is a real former price, and the discounted price is the same $499.99 iRobot is charging on its own store. The percentage is honest and the deal is fair. It is not a find — it is the standard price for this robot in October, available in two places.

The catch: nothing hidden, and no Prime membership needed. Just know you are not beating iRobot’s own offer, so buy it wherever is convenient. It is not in our shop for that reason.

The “415X” configuration — REAL PRICE, OVERSTATED TAG

There is a third listing: a 415X with a higher stated suction figure, carrying a “50% off” tag. The price itself is genuinely low — lower than iRobot’s own current selling price for the 415 Combo, for a model that claims more suction.

But the 50% is measured against a former price well above anything iRobot’s own store lists for the 415 line, where the highest figure we can find is $599.99. We cannot verify that the product was really offered at the crossed-out figure, and iRobot does not use it. Under our own rules, a saving only counts against a real former price, so we are not calling this a 50% discount. Against iRobot’s own list price it is roughly a third off, which is a good price that does not need the bigger number.

The catch: read the price, not the percentage — the tag is doing work the price does not need. The deal is also a Prime-member exclusive, and the listing showed only a handful left when we checked, so the price may not hold.

Which one should you buy

Buy the Electro Plus if your floors are hard throughout and the job you actually want done is disinfecting — it is the only one of the three that is cheaper than iRobot will sell it to you for, and by a wide margin. Take the Cream one.

Buy the 415 Combo if you want the cleaning to happen without you, and buy it wherever is convenient, because the price is the same.

Do not buy either because of a percentage. One of these three tags is measured against a number the manufacturer does not use.

What we left out

We left out a competing robot vacuum on sale at 45% off in the same category. Its price looks strong, but we had not checked its former price against the manufacturer’s own store, and we do not publish a percentage we have not verified. We will check it before the next piece.

We also left out accessory bundles. Replacement pads and filters are where this category gets expensive, and we have not priced a year of them yet.

How we checked

On Tuesday, October 7, 2026 we opened iRobot’s own store first and recorded the list price and the current selling price for each product, with the manufacturer item numbers. We then opened each retailer listing and recorded the price, the stated former price and the discount percentage, and compared the two Electro listings’ full specification tables against each other. Where a stated former price had no counterpart at iRobot, we did not treat the percentage as a verified saving.

We re-check every deal on our list against the retailer’s live price each morning, and the time of the check is printed on every card. How we check a deal →

FAQ

Is the Roomba Electro Plus a robot vacuum?
No. It is a cordless floor cleaner you push. The robot in this comparison is the Roomba Plus 415 Combo.

Does the Electro Plus need cleaning solution?
No. It electrolyzes ordinary tap water to disinfect hard floors, according to iRobot’s own product page.

Why are there two listings for the same cleaner?
Here the two listings are two colourways — Cream and Black — carried separately rather than as one listing with a colour picker. Their specifications are identical. Because they are separate listings, their prices are set separately, and here only one of them is discounted. Always read the colour and the price on the page you are buying from.

Do I need Prime to get these prices?
Yes, for the two discounted listings. Both are flagged on the listing as exclusive to Prime members. The 415 Combo at iRobot’s own price needs no membership.

Is a “50% off” tag ever wrong?
It is not wrong if the item was really offered at the crossed-out price. It is misleading when the crossed-out price is a figure nobody charges. That is why we check the manufacturer’s own store first.

Will these prices last?
They are tied to a retailer sale event. We re-check daily, and the card shows the time of the last check.

We check the price before you do.
